Balliamo Christmas Stocking Hunt

Well I've been just a little busy and redid the sim into a shopping village. I love the new look and even recently put out Christmas decor around the town. I'm currently in the Falling Leaves hunt also and the creator of the Jingle Bell Hunt that starts Tuesday, Dec. 1st. I got a wild hair this past week and made a sim hunt for the town also. If you come by, there are 10 Christmas stockings hid all about. To start the sim hunt, click on the basket at the landing point to get your basket and wear it. You'll find it in your inventory named "hunt basket". This will attach to your right hand and you'll then go about the sim to find all ten of the stockings. After you find all of them, you will come back to the info board where you started and click it to receive your prize. I've attached a picture of the outfits... Sexy Santa Set for him and her. I hope you come by and thanks for hunting at Balliamo!

Gotta Love Retro!

I took a break today and was blog hopping and I found this dress. It's a retro beauty and also a freebie at SD Wears. You can find this at their main store but you'll have to "hunt" for it as it's part of her Spring Flower Hunt.

I haven't done the Spring Flower Hunt though... I only went to hunt down this dress! *laughs*

You'll love it, I promise!

Also, I'm still working on Mayfield and keep your eyes open for the Sock Hop! It's getting closer!

What does it take?

Ok, I am writing this to find out some way to get my fashions and sims "noticed" in SL. How? What does it take? I have been creating clothes for a little over a year and a half now and would love to have my fifteen minutes of fame.... that's not too much to ask is it?

I have posted dollarbies, given away freebies, held grand openings and events, and even created this blog. What else is there to do? I'm totally stumped.

I don't think my fashions are the best as I have a LOT of wonderful competition out there. I'm just wondering what it takes to "get your name on the board" so to speak.

I'm also an avid follower of the site AVANISTA.COM and I love keeping up with other blogs. It's sooo much easier than hopping from blog to blog. I do however, keep up with ones that aren't listed on there like mine, Balliamo. Anyone know how you get on there?

Anyway.... if you have suggestions or comments, please let me know.

I'm trying to learn this new advertising curve in SL.... needless to say my Photoshop skills are a LOT better than my advertising ones. *hehe*

Good Day!

Saddle Shoes

Coming soon are these Black and White Saddle Shoes for my Mayfield 1959 sim. I had seen a pair of these and had to make some for myself to also sell in the sim.

Also in the works are some different colored poodle skirt sets. Already made are Pink Ladies Jackets and Guy's Letterman Coats for the high school.

I'm planning on opening soon with a sock hop in the Mayfield High School Gym.

Can't wait!

Faith

New!

Just released is my newest Faith dress. It's one of my favorites and to be honest I kept this one to myself for a while, but thought I'd share it with others to enjoy. It comes with a fancy pearl broach and you can find this in my Balliamo store and also my vendor stall at Shabby Chic location.

It's also very affordable at only $250 L.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Mayfield 1959

Well I broke down and decided to change the sim. It was a tough decision but one that I've been thinking on for a while now. I changed the sim to a 1959 theme and called it Mayfield. Why Mayfield you ask? Well Mayfield was the city the Cleaver's lived. You know, Wally? It's been tough finding low prim items and things I want but it's coming along nicely.... that is "if" I don't decide to change things up again. Sidenote, Shae would kill me. Anyway, the sim is closed for renovations and road and sidewalk construction. We hope to be open soon. So keep your eyes open!

OH! Balliamo is OPEN and has it's own little plot of land on the corner of the sim so you can still go shopping.

Pull up your pants!!!!

Had a visitor to the sim today and so I zoomed in to peek at her and whom it might be when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a HALF MOON!

Ok I don't make belts but I somehow feel that someone could make a killing in SL making some.

This just ain't attractive seeing your brown booty stain!

Help! Don't eat me!

Well I've been a little bit busy with rl so I've not had a chance to design or do as much as I'd like. I have gotten into a thing lately of looking for great freebie and dollarbies to give me some type of inspiration. Designers block, temporary burn out, or just tired... I'm not sure but I'm sure I'll get back in the swing of things pretty soon. So do keep coming back and looking for more. I promise to keep you all fully clothed with my designs - heh, as well as entertained none the less.

Anyway, I was on a shopping spree for some retro items and found this neat little plant. It looked a little sheepish so I'd thought I'd pet it. Yes, I have been told that I'm too touchy at times but I'm sure this is NOT what my friends meant.
Well I'm being all nice to this little plant and evidently he thought I must be a little bit tasty! Whaaa! I think they heard my screams in the next sim over and I must have startled it cause it quickly let me go. Anyway... happy Sunday!

New Easter Goodies!

I'm always shopping in here as well as real life it seems and wanted to share a couple of finds and freebies.

This cute little babydoll dress is part of Cupcake's Easter Hop hunt and if you look closely when you enter their store you'll find it. You'll be hunting for a green egg.

The skin is by Cupcake's also and is in a lucky chair there. It's called Lovespell - Coffee - Glam. I'm not used to wearing red lipstick so it looks kinda odd on me and it gave me a deep darker tan. It's a great find and I'm positive some of you will like it.

The hair is from Exile and is called Love Story - sand. Some of you may like updo's like myself and it's a great style I must say.

This dress is a new Cranberry Shrug Dress that I made and you'll find it in the entry way at my Balliamo store. It comes with a jacket that you can remove and a short flexy skirt.

Shrugs are popular right now so come and grab yours today for only $250 L.

When you find all 10 of these, go back to the center of town and click on the BIG Easter Basket for your prize. You have to find all 10 first and let me tell you I found 9 in two hours and gave up on the 10th one. If you find all 10, this is the prize you will receive and make me jealous.

So I tried my hand at QAvimator last night because I saw this adorable pose that Juicy was giving away and I loved it! I hope to have this packaged up and ready to hand out at the entry way by this weekend.

I also made a rather simple modeling pose that I may give out as a "Freebie" since it was a first try.

Vintage Western Wear, 1870's Designs

Sunday Best - by Angie Newall
Today I wanted to show one of my favorite designs from the 1870's. Back then in the day ladies were to be very prim and proper and were discouraged from showing the least bit of ankle. Even high necklines and tight corsets were a must! This dress has a lot of sentimental value to it as if it was hanging right in my closet and is one of my very favorite to wear in Deadwood and Pendleton. I've sold several of these and it always puts a smile on my face to see these walking around. I had many many ladies comment on how much they love this one and I'm so pleased to have made one that fits almost every personality.
I started making this era of clothing because the dresses are just so formal and feminine looking. I hope that the ladies that bought this outfit is enjoying it as much as I do.

Betty Dress - by Angie Newall

Today I wanted to share another one of my 1930-40's dresses that I made. This one I named Betty because it just hit me out of the blue.

Now of course it's not like the white one in the picture below but I liked it and wanted to make one with an open belly like that one has. I like the white and may have to make one like it too.

I was informed that showing the open belly at this point in time was "taboo"and that I couldn't sell it in the rp sim, but however after some research I found out that this was becoming popular with the ladies. I got my information here .

And here's a little about what the site has to say about it:

Beaded crepe cocktail dress, 1940s

This Hollywood style dress has the built-up shoulders made popular by MGM designer Adrian in his designs for Joan Crawford (Letty Lynton,1932). The style really took hold after America entered WWII. The shoulder pads signified the woman who lives her life to the full, the self-made woman.

The hard line of the shoulders is softened by the softly draped sleeves and outrageous bare midriff. The bias-cut skirt peplum flares to a deep "V" in back. The dress is fashioned from white rayon crepe and is decorated with bands of clear crystal beading with accents of pale amber beads. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper. The straight skirt has a small slit at the center-back hem.

The dress brings to mind Veronica Lake in the 1940s film noir, The Blue Dahlia. She plays the beautiful, mysterious stranger meeting Alan Ladd for the first time. Her memorable line was "Practically all the people I know were strangers when I first met them." But they won't forget her—or you in this dress!

I love that quote by Veronica and my just have to put it in my profile. :)

This one will be up for grabs soon. Just wanted to share it with ya.

Amy Dress - by Angie Newall

New today I made this Amy dress from the television Show, "Gossip Girl". Some of you may know it, however I don't think I've seen the show yet. The dress is an original design of Temperly London's Zola Mini Dress that Blair wore in the show. (Heh, I did a little bit of research.)

You'll see the original dress below that was designed by Temperly and I love the style because it's perfect for modern day and also for the 1940's era. I wanted to do something that I could wear now and also in the rp (roleplay) sims.

This dress comes with a top, skirt, and black accent bow. Sorry the pumps aren't included nor the hair but you can find the hair at Tami McCoy's awesome hair store!

Rags and Riches!

Cream Daydress - Comfortable and Stylish by Angie Newall

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of outfits I have coming out for Balliamo's Grand Opening! The dress above is a 1940's Cream Daydress that the ladies wore back in the day. These ladies would wear these dresses and do chores around the house and run errands in... today they are commonly known as "housewives". You'll be quite comfy in this!

"A Yummy Apology" - Lacy Underthings by Angie

The lingerie and naughty "underthings" back in the 1930's and 1940's made several ladies very popular like Ms Betty Page and a few others. These ladies helped entertain the men in the service at that time and here is a new set of lingerie that'll be available also for you to purchase. I did my best to make something similiar to the design below.

Welcome to Balliamo Designs! What does Balliamo mean? Well it means "Will you dance with me?" in Italian and I loved this name as I love to dance and love anything Italian.

Balliamo Designs is created by Angie Newall of Second Life and she enjoys designing all types of clothing... designs from the early 1800's, dresses from the 1930's, modern day 2009 outfits and even some modern day erotica items. You'll find all of these items in her store soon at her Grand Opening. Keep your eyes and ears open for more information to come and also join the Balliamo Design Group in SL to keep up with new updates and outfits as Angie gets them done.

Keep in mind that Angie does work in real life and is a full time wife and mother but does her best to put out designs that she would like to have for herself and also for her friends. If you have questions, feel free to drop her a note and she'll gladly answer you.

Toodles!
